Every kindergarten and school that wishes to participate in our project can fill out the application.

Would you like your child to participate in an international ‘Say Hello to the World’ project? You can speak to your kindergarten teacher and inform her about us, or contact us. We will try to do our best to make it happen.

Project through the eyes of the children from Alpha-Vila kindergarten (Brazil)

We decided to share with our Canadian friends some of the things we like. Some of us like a TV show, some of us like superheros. We learned what our friends enjoy doing and it was very nice to have the opportunity to introduce ourselves.
2nd finger – ME AND MY FAMILY
We prepared an artwork to display our family, using glued popsicle sticks to represent the members of our family. We used the artwork during the videoconference call to illustrate how our family looks like. Our Canadian friends showed us more of their families too. It was a nice meeting!
3rd finger – ME AND MY KINDERGARTEN
We have so many nice places in our kindergarten and we showed them to our friends through some beautiful drawings, made by ourselves! We also showed them some pictures so they see what the places really looks like! They sent us some videos from their school and our favorite room was the popcorn room! How cool is that? We were also introduced to their principal.
4th finger – ME AND MY COMMUNITY
We’ve draw a big airplane in a huge piece of cardboard to represent the international airport we have in our town. We’ve also displayed a map of our town and shared with our friends the meaning of the name of our city: “CAMPINAS” means large and vast grass fields. We’ve prepared big numbers depicting the number of inhabitants leaving in our community…over 2 million people!

5th finger – ME AND MY COUNTRY
We brought a Brazilian journeyand told our friends from Canada about its colors and stars, which represent each one of our 26 states. We’ve brought a soccer ball representing the big event that is about to start in just a few days, the World Cup. We’ve also shared with them using big numbers, the total inhabitants in our country…over 200 million people. We told our friend in our country we write Brasil with an “S”, while overseas, it is written with the “Z”, Brazil. Our friends from Canada spot us wearing jackets and we explained while they are getting ready for the summer vacation, we are down south and over here, we are approaching the winter time.
At the end we all agreed it was a wonderful journey, with many discovers about each other. We’ve learned a lot about our friends in Canada and hopefully they learned something from us as well ! We can’t wait for our next SAY HELLO TO THE WORLD !!!!
